The general formation of high ammonia nitrogen wastewater is caused by the co-existence of ammonia and inorganic ammonia. In general, the main source of ammonia nitrogen in wastewater with pH above neutral is the joint action of inorganic ammonia and ammonia water. The ammonia nitrogen in wastewater with pH acidity is mainly caused by inorganic ammonia.
For high concentration ammonia nitrogen wastewater, air stripping, steam stripping and MAP precipitation can be generally used for pretreatment to recover ammonia products to compensate the operating cost.
For medium and low concentration ammonia wastewater, biological denitrification method, ion exchange method and advanced oxidation method can be generally used
