How does flue gas dedusting work?

The forces used in dust removal include gravity, centrifugal force, inertia force, adhesion force, acoustic wave, electrostatic force, etc.

The coarse particles are generally separated by gravity settling and inertia force, and the centrifugal force is often used to separate dust in higher capacity.

Electrostatic precipitator and bag filter have higher dust removal efficiency.

Water dripping film can stick to fly ash in wet and Wengels-water film precipitator with high dust removal efficiency and can absorb gaseous pollutants.

Flue gas desulfurization has absorption method and catalytic oxidation method.

Alkaline alumina, semi-coke and activated carbon for dry absorption;

Wet absorption with ammonia, sodium carbonate, lime slurry, etc.

Most sulfur dioxide can be oxidized to sulfur trioxide by using catalysts such as vanadium pentoxide at a certain temperature, thus contributing to absorption and desulfurization.

Due to the high cost of FGD equipment and operation, most enterprises prefer to use low sulfur fuel to reduce sulfur oxide emissions.
